So many activities happening for the 4th of July Holiday weekend, we can't keep up! Here is a list of our favorite events going on in the city to help you plan your weekend of fun!

America’s Birthday Party with Betsy Ross and Termini Brothers Bakery

Thursday, July 4, 2019 | 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

On the Fourth of July, the Independence Visitor Center throws an epic birthday party for America, complete with a five-tier cake — decorated on-site by Termini Brothers Bakery staff — and 2,500 cupcakes arranged in the shape of an American flag. After Betsy Ross leads the crowd in singing Happy Birthday to America, visitors can enjoy the treats for free.Where: Independence Visitors Center, 599 Market Street


Celebration of Freedom Ceremony

Thursday, July 4, 2019 | 10-11 a.m.

Philly’s Fourth of July celebration kicks off at Independence Hall with this patriotic presentation featuring special guests, a reading of the Declaration of Independence, music from the Philly POPS Big Band and more.

Free Museum Day at Bartram’s Garden House

Thursday, July 4, 2019 | 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

The historic home of botanists John and William Bartram, on the beautiful grounds of America’s first botanical garden, opens its doors to the public for free on Thursday, July 4.

Free Museum Day at the National Museum of American Jewish History

Thursday, July 4, 2019 | 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Anchoring Independence Mall, the National Museum of American Jewish History brings to life more than 360 years of American Jewish history. On Independence Day, guests to the museum can enter for free and see interesting artifacts, enjoy Fourth of July-themed arts and crafts projects and more.

Where: the National Museum of American Jewish History, 101 S. Independence Mall East

Salute to America Independence Day Parade

Thursday, July 4, 2019 | 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

This big-city event with a small-town feel features dozens of colorful floats, marching bands, military groups and more than 4,000 participants in a musical, colorful cavalcade winding through the streets of the Historic District. Parade-goers should keep an eye out for the Visit Philadelphia-sponsored float inspired by Philadelphia’s connections to the LGBTQ rights movement and the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots.

Where: Parade begins at S. 5th and Chestnut streets

Party on the Parkway 

Thursday, July 4, 2019 | Noon-7 p.m.

A blockbuster Wawa Welcome America event, the Party on the Parkway offers a day full of family fun, with food trucks, live performances, games, beer gardens and more taking place along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway on July 4th.

Where: Benjamin Franklin Parkway and 21st Street

Wawa Welcome America July 4th Concert & Fireworks

Thursday, July 4, 2019 | 7-10 p.m.

A massive free concert — headlined by Jennifer Hudson and Meghan Trainor! — on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway precedes a fantastic fireworks show that fills the sky above the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The whole event is completely free to attend and the dazzling fireworks can be seen from many vantage points throughout the city.
